Just For Laughs! On the 23rd of January, we celebrated my mother's birthday. It was one of the very few times where i had to plan all the presents since my elder siblings were overseas. as a result, i spent a long time thinking on what to do. since our present to my mother could not be given physically, i decided to present it in a booklet form. for people who are not part of the Phang family, you may not understand some of it as a lot of these are family jokes. for those who are part of the Phang family, i hope i have done a good job and that you all will be laughing your head off by the time you have seen the whole thing. mum cried tears of laughter after seeing the whole thing. i made her read the whole thing out to create a bigger effect. hahaha. Here it is:Booklet 1

Now this is where the real fun begins:Booklet 2

LAUGH! LAUGH! LAUGH!

I just came back from a yearly Chinese New Year gathering at my parent's friend's place. They served my favourite Lo Hei and Sushi! And of course, i collected more red packets :D well, its CNY right? hahaha.Anyway, i have been pretty much hooked on to doing this extremely difficult sudoku puzzle. I can easily say that this is the hardest puzzle i have done in comparison to the many others i have tried. After re-doing it about 3 times, i FINALLY managed to solve it. Try solving it youself!
If you managed to solve it, type in the number in the 3 orange boxes beginning with the left in my tagboard and i will reply to inform you the result. Also, to all those who tagged with regards to my drawings, thank you for your compliments :DLastly, thanks to Sylves again for putting the photos in his thumbdrive and lending it to me. I have already sent all the photos to Ivy and she has uploaded it in her blog. Go take a peek!

Well, my hard work has finally paid off. A few weeks ago, my family dropped by at Ikea and bought frames for the drawings i did. During the holiday, i went for my very first art class. This art class was only for a week long but it was everyday for the 5 working days. It is tiring because i had to wake up really early and spend long hours at the studio but it was fun.My experience in art = 0. i have not had any art lessons other than the ones in school which i never took seriously. i only started drawing seriously end of last year, so, please do not have high expectations :DHere's a brief introduction. This is my very first A4 drawing. Its a part of my house. Purely pencil sketching. I drew this for my mum since after all, she was the one who did up that part of the house.
This is my grandmother's house. i drew this for my father's birthday because this is the house which he lived in from a very young age and has a lot of memories in. till this day, the house still belongs to my grandmother. Also a pencil drawing.
Lastly, this is a charcoal piece which i did during my art class. The first piece i did was a try-out on different techniques on drawing block. This is an actual one with huge paper specially for charcoal drawing. i spent many hours on this, it being my first, and it is indeed very satisfying to be asked by the teacher to sign my name at the bottom.
Not sure if you guys want to see the rest. Haha. Also, don't tell yourself you can't draw because everyone can.

Chinese New Year ContinuationThird DayOn the third day, my mother invited about 40 students to come to our house for lunch. These students are scholars mainly from China. Being away from home for their first time, my mum decided to extend invitation to them. Here's a photo of some of the first group who came:

After that, we proceeded to Ah Ma's house where we ate a lot and played endless games of blackjack. Without 2 of my siblings as well as a few other cousins, it was extremely quiet this year.Second DayWe took some photos in the morning. And yes, i was forced to wear a skirt.Mum and Dad

My Godmother/my mother's goddaughter/my sister's friend (a very complicating relationship), Michelle, came over in the morning.Mum, Michelle, Jane and I:
And then, Michelle joined us for lunch at Popo's place together with all the other relatives from my mother's side. We played games as usual and i learned how to play the basics of Mahjong. Before that, Jane, Denise, Kenneth, KKM, Nicholas, Charlene and I had a good game of "Game of Life." By the time they left, it was nearly midnight. I shall update about the third day of CNY in my next post. In the meantime, i think i will have to start to pack my room. hahahaha.
